Offshore Partner (Provisional and Migrant) visa (subclass 309 / 100). This visa lets the de facto partner or spouse of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia, temporarily.

  • Be in a genuine relationship with your spouse or de facto partner who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
  • Have your spouse or de facto partner sponsor you.
  • Be outside Australia when you apply for this visa.

Once this visa is approved you can live, work and study in Australia. You can travel in and out of Australia as many times as you wish. You also receive English language support if needed, given by the Adult Migrant English Program, if eligible.

Having this visa approved is the first step towards a permanent Partner visa (subclass 100).

Offshore Partner (Migrant) visa (subclass 100) is a permanent visa that allows you to live in Australia with your de facto partner or spouse. This visa is usually granted to people who hold a temporary Partner visa (subclass 309). Once this visa is granted you are able to;

  • Live, work and study in Australia indefinitely.
  • Travel in and out of Australia as many times as you want.
  • Sponsor eligible family members to come to Australia.
  • Apply for Australian citizenship if eligible.
