Prospective Marriage visa (subclass 300) allows you to come to Australia to marry your prospective spouse and then apply for a Partner visa.
The Prospective Marriage visa (subclass 300) is a temporary visa which, once granted, will allow you to travel to Australia to marry your partner within the 9-month visa period. You must have met your partner in person, and are personally known to each other.
After marrying your partner, it is intended that you will then apply for an onshore Partner visa, which must be lodged before your Prospective Marriage visa (subclass 300) expires.
In order for this visa to be granted you must;
- Be over the age of 18 years.
- Intend to marry your prospective spouse before the visa period ends.
- Be outside Australia when you apply for the visa.
- Be outside Australia when the decision is made.
- You and your partner have met, in person and are personally known to each other.
