Child visa (subclass 101 / 802) is a visa issued to children whose parents or legal guardians are living in Australia.
Child visa (subclass 101) is an offshore visa and allows a child outside of Australia to move to Australia permanently to live with their parents.
For this visa to be approved you must;
- Be a dependent child of a parent who is an Australian citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent visa.
- Be under the age of 18 years, a full-time student aged between 18 – 25 and financially dependent on the parent, or over 18 and unable to work due to a disability.
- Be single and dependent on the parent.
- Be outside Australia when application is lodged.
Child visa (subclass 802) is an onshore visa and allows a child to stay in Australia permanently and live with their parents.
For this visa to be approved you must;
- Be a dependent child of a parent who is an Australian citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent visa.
- Be under the age of 18 years, a full-time student aged between 18 – 25 and financially dependent on the parent, or over 18 and unable to work due to a disability.
- Be single and dependent on the parent.
- Be in Australia when application is lodged.
